Restricted? (This is not a ban on your Among Us account)
You can also use this site’s form
Use Appeal a room restriction to choose “I think the room restriction was a mistake”, “Please erase my records” or “I want to report something about a host”. Appeals saying the room restriction was a mistake are read by the author and the Room Access Team members the author chooses; requests to erase records and reports about a host are read only by the author. Only the author decides whether to reply and whether to lift a room restriction. Include the date and time, room code, evidence number AEG-…, code from /cmd id and what happened as far as you know. You can send it without the numbers or codes. Use your in-game name, not your real name. Replies appear on the receipt page. Requests on this site are deleted 30 days after they are marked resolved. This is separate from how long game records stay on a host’s PC. You can still use Discord and email. Send report zips and evidence zips by email, rather than attaching them to this site’s form.
What a room restriction is
You can’t get in because a rule violation was recorded in a PocketRoles room earlier. This is not a ban on your Among Us account. Rooms that don’t use PocketRoles work as usual.
The restriction comes from the room-restriction system (called Aegis) in “PocketRoles”, the mod the host of that room uses.
The notice you see
From v0.5.5, when a restricted player joins, a notice like this appears and they are removed about 30 seconds later.
[Aegis] You can't join this room; removed soon. Mistake? Search PocketRoles, see "Restricted?"- In a registered room, only you get this notice.
- In an unregistered room, everyone sees a notice without your name. Type
/cmd idbefore you’re removed to get the code for an appeal (everyone sees it next to your name). - In rooms whose host still runs v0.5.4 or older, the notice doesn’t appear.
- If you join the same room again, that room removes you with a ban.
Kinds and lengths
- Automatic ban: an action that is impossible in normal Among Us was seen (a kill by a role that can’t kill, for example). 30 days the first time, 180 days the second time, permanent from the third. It ends by itself when the time is up.
- Host ban: a ban the host decided on. The host picks the length (no length means permanent).
- Shared ban: a player on the list the author checked the evidence for and signed. It also keeps you out of other hosts’ rooms that use PocketRoles.
Where it applies
- Automatic and host bans are stored on that host’s PC and only work in that host’s rooms. Other hosts’ rooms are open to you.
- A shared ban works in rooms of PocketRoles hosts who haven’t turned shared bans off.
- While a shared ban lasts, that Among Us account can’t create PocketRoles rooms, and the StarPocket Client Play button turns into a grey “Restricted” button. Plain Among Us from Steam works as usual (B-91).
The offence count
Even after a ban ends, the offence count stays for a year after the last ban ends. Another ban within that year moves one step up (30 days → 180 days → permanent). A ban the author reviewed and found to be a mistake on appeal is taken off the count.
Official Among Us reports
Automatic reporting of a clear cheat is off by default. In a room where the host turned it on, an official Among Us report is sent too, and Innersloth decides what to do with it. Official Among Us bans can’t be lifted here.
If you think it’s a mistake
You can appeal once per ban. See How to appeal. What the code in the room means is in Codes shown when you’re removed from a room.
